A cape looks incredible on a hanger. Then you reach for your bag and your arm isn’t there.

This one is cut with sleeves. The drape is the same — wide, falling straight off the shoulder, the part that reads expensive — but it ends in a cuff, and your hands come out of it. You can drive in it. You can carry a bag on one shoulder.

It was never that you couldn’t pull off a cape. The cape just wasn’t finished.

It goes on last, and it decides the outfit.

Jeans and a long-sleeve tee underneath. That is the entire outfit in every photo on this page, and nothing else was needed.

The stand collar closes with three buttons set off to one side, so there is a line running up the front whether it’s open or shut. Tie the belt and it has a waist. Leave it loose and it’s a swing coat.

The body is roomy by design — that is the shape, not room to grow into. A sweater goes underneath without pulling at the shoulder.

S through XXL, and the belt does the rest of the adjusting. Between two sizes, take the smaller one: the cut already has the ease built into it.

Questions people ask before they buy

Can I carry a shoulder bag in it?

Yes. That is the difference between this and a true cape — the sleeve ends in a cuff instead of an open drape, so the shoulder is a real shoulder and a strap stays on it.
Is it warm enough on its own?

It’s a layer, not a parka. Over a long-sleeve tee it handles a cool, dry day. Over a knit it goes colder, and the sleeve is wide enough that the knit fits under it without bunching.
Does the belt come off?

It slips through two loops at the waist, so yes. Off, it’s a swing shape. On, it’s a waist. Most people keep it on.
Is it one size?

No. It runs S to XXL. Plenty of capes are sold one-size and end up fitting nobody — this one has a real size run, and the belt handles what’s left.
How do I wash it?

Cold wash, dry flat. No dry cleaner, no special bag.
