Questions people ask before they buy
What size should I take? Does it run small or large?
It is cut to close over a sweater, with a drawstring waist that pulls in the difference. Between two sizes, take the larger one. “What’s my size?” above the button has this coat’s own measurements, laid flat, so you can compare it with a coat you already own.
Does it actually keep the rain out?
Rain runs off it — that is what a coated shell does. It is built for the school run, the dog, the sideline and the walk from the car: a wet day, not a storm on a ridge. If you need taped seams for a hike, this is not that coat, and we would rather you knew before it arrives.
Is it warm? Is it heavy?
It is a shell with a tartan lining, not a winter coat — about 530 g, so you forget it is on. It is made for cool, wet days over a sweater. For real cold, put a knit under it or reach for The London Trench.
Will the snaps and the zip hold up?
The front is a zip with a snap storm flap over it, so the snaps are never the only thing holding it closed. If a snap or the zip ever gives inside thirty days, the coat is replaced in full and we won’t ask you to ship it back.
Does the hood stay up?
It pulls in with a drawstring at the face, so it stays where you put it and keeps the rain off your glasses and your hair.
What fits in the pockets?
Two deep front pockets with snap flaps — a phone, keys, a leash, a pair of gloves, and your hands. The flaps close, so what is in them stays dry.
How do I wash it?
Cold, gentle cycle, inside out, and hang it to dry. Never the dryer and never hot water — heat is what breaks down a coating, on any raincoat.
Can I return or exchange it?
Yes — thirty days from the day it lands on your doorstep. Wrong size, wrong color, changed your mind: tell us and a person sorts it out. Anything damaged or defective is replaced or refunded in full, and we won’t ask you to ship it back.
How long is it? Will it cover me sitting on a wet bench?
Mid-thigh — about 33 in / 84 cm long in a M, and it grows about 1 cm per size. It covers what you sit on. The full chart is in “What’s my size?” above the button.
Why this one and not a cheaper one?
Because the cheap one makes you choose: it keeps you dry and looks like it, or it looks good and lets the rain in. This one is the coat you already like, built as a shell — you buy one instead of two, and it is still on at dinner. And if it isn’t that, thirty days.
