Description

A faux suede jacket, trimmed in matching faux fur.

A short, roomy jacket in a matte chocolate faux suede. Long, curly faux fur runs around the collar, down both front edges, around the cuffs and along the hem, back included. The fur is the same chocolate as the faux suede, with slightly lighter tips, so from a few steps away the jacket reads as one color. The wide collar lies flat on your shoulders and opens into a deep V. There are no buttons: the two fur edges meet in the middle, and the jacket is made to be worn open.

What you are getting

  • Matte faux suede in one chocolate tone
  • Long, curly faux fur on the collar, the front edges, the cuffs and the hem
  • A wide shawl collar that opens into a deep V
  • Wide fur cuffs at the end of long sleeves
  • A short length that stops at the hip, 25 to 26 inches
  • A roomy cut with dropped shoulders
  • No buttons, no zipper, no logo
  • Sizes S to XL

Perfect for dark jeans and a cream turtleneck · Saturday coffee in town · the holiday party where you keep your jacket on · the weekend in the mountains, after the slopes · dinner at a friend’s house · a gift for your sister, if you know her size.

Size & fit

Cut roomy, with dropped shoulders, to wear open. These are the jacket’s own measurements, taken flat by the factory. The bust is the jacket all the way around, not your body.

  • S: bust 44.1 in (112 cm) · shoulders 18.9 in (48 cm) · sleeve 22.4 in (57 cm) · length 24.8 in (63 cm)
  • M: bust 46.1 in (117 cm) · shoulders 19.7 in (50 cm) · sleeve 22.8 in (58 cm) · length 25.2 in (64 cm)
  • L: bust 48 in (122 cm) · shoulders 20.5 in (52 cm) · sleeve 23.2 in (59 cm) · length 25.6 in (65 cm)
  • XL: bust 50 in (127 cm) · shoulders 21.3 in (54 cm) · sleeve 23.6 in (60 cm) · length 26 in (66 cm)

How to pick your size: lay a jacket you love flat, measure it straight across the chest just under the arms, and double that number. Pick the size closest to it.

Arms and layers: the body is cut roomy, but the factory doesn’t give the sleeve width, and jackets like this often feel snug in the arms. Fuller arms, or a chunky sweater underneath? Take the larger size. Between two sizes over a T-shirt or a thin knit, take the smaller one.

Where it lands: the fur hem sits at the hip, and the sleeves are long, with the fur cuffs coming down over the wrist. To see where the hem lands on you, measure 25 inches down from the top of your shoulder.

Measurements are taken by hand and can vary by about an inch. Wrong size? Exchange it within 30 days of delivery, unworn with its tags.

Materials & care

Body

Faux suede with a matte, velvety nap.

Trim

Long, curly faux fur on the collar, the front edges, the cuffs and the hem.

Care

When it arrives, shake it out, brush the fur to lift it, and let the jacket air out for a day. After that, brush the fur gently with a soft brush, in the direction of the curls. The long curls can tangle and clump where they rub, under a bag strap or at the cuffs: the same brush brings them back. Wipe a spot on the faux suede with a slightly damp cloth and let it air dry, away from a heater. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or iron.

The Courchevel Jacket in Chocolate, worn open on a snowy lane between chalets

The fur matches the jacket. That’s the whole trick.

The classic pairs tan suede with cream fur. Bold. Very 70s. A little costume. Here, fur and faux suede share one chocolate. The eye sees one jacket.

  • Long, curly faux fur in chocolate
  • Slightly lighter tips, like in the photos
  • Matte faux suede in the same tone
  • One color from a few steps away

A big collar. It lies flat.

A wide shawl collar of long, curly faux fur. It lies on your shoulders, opens into a deep V, and frames your face. Never up at your ears.

  • A wide shawl collar that lies flat
  • A deep V that shows your turtleneck
  • Fur down both front edges
  • Room for a scarf, or nothing at all

It stops at the hip. It stays open.

Short enough for jeans and a shoulder bag. Nothing to button: the fur edges meet in the middle. Honest note: a cold, dry day, not a blizzard.

  • Stops at the hip, 25 to 26 inches long
  • No buttons, no zipper
  • Roomy, with dropped shoulders
  • Wide fur cuffs and a fur hem

Try it on at home first.

Put it on over what you’ll really wear with it, a turtleneck or a thin knit, and look in a full mirror. Check the sleeves and where the hem lands.

If the size isn’t right, email us. A person answers within one business day, and you choose an exchange or store credit for the full amount. Send it back unworn, with its tags.

Questions people ask before they buy

What size should I take?

If you usually wear a US 2 to 10, take the S; a US 12, the M; a US 14 or 16, the L; a US 18, the XL. Those sizes are matched to the jacket’s own bust measurement under Size & fit, worn open. Fuller arms or a chunky sweater underneath? Take the larger size.

Does the faux fur shed?

Long, curly faux fur can drop a few loose fibers when it’s new. Shake it out and brush it when it arrives, and wear it over darker colors the first few times. The long curls can tangle and clump where they rub, under a bag strap or at the cuffs. A soft brush, in the direction of the curls, brings them back.

What color is Chocolate, exactly?

A deep brown with a cool, slightly gray cast, darker than camel or tan. The curls of the fur are the same brown, with lighter, almost silvery tips, so the trim reads a shade lighter than the jacket from up close and one color from a few steps away.

Does it close?

No. There are no buttons, no zipper and no hooks. The two fur edges meet in the middle, and the jacket is made to be worn open, like in the photos.

Is it warm enough for winter?

It’s made for cold, dry days, worn open over a sweater, the way this style is worn in town. It has no buttons, so it isn’t a coat for a blizzard or a day on the slopes.

Is it real fur? Real suede?

No. The body is a faux suede and the trim is faux fur.

How long is it?

It stops at the hip: 25 to 26 inches from the top of the shoulder to the hem, depending on the size. To see where it lands on you, measure 25 inches down from the top of your shoulder. The sleeves are long, with the fur cuffs over the wrist.

How do I take care of it?

When it arrives, shake it out, brush the fur and let it air out for a day. Then brush the fur gently now and then, and wipe a spot on the faux suede with a slightly damp cloth. Let it air dry, away from a heater. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or iron.

Can I return or exchange it?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, unworn and unwashed, with its tags and packaging: an exchange for another size, or store credit for the full amount. Return shipping is on you. Anything that arrives damaged or defective is on us, and we won’t ask you to send it back.

The chocolate brown with those curly cuffs 🤎 honestly the jacket does all the work. Plain jeans and a little white top would be more than enough.

Okayyy that trim 😭 the contrast with the smooth brown fabric is so pretty. The cuffs are my favourite bit… a little dramatic, which is exactly the point lol.
