Description

A two-tone ballet flat. The toe takes the sidewalk.

A classic slip-on ballet flat with a soft round toe. The body is one smooth color. The toe is a separate cap, black on four of the five colors and gold on Black & Gold, with one clean seam straight across the foot. A thin ribbed edge in the body’s color runs around the opening, and a small flat bow sits just above the seam. Underneath, a thin rubber sole and a low heel.

Size & fit

Order your usual US size. Each size is matched to the factory foot length with about a quarter inch of room at the toe. If you’d rather measure, go bare foot, heel to longest toe, and take the size whose length is at least a quarter inch longer than your foot:

  • US 5.5 (EU 35): a foot up to 8.65 in (22 cm)
  • US 6 (EU 36): up to 8.85 in (22.5 cm)
  • US 6.5 (EU 37): up to 9.05 in (23 cm)
  • US 7 (EU 38): up to 9.25 in (23.5 cm)
  • US 7.5 (EU 39): up to 9.45 in (24 cm)
  • US 8 (EU 40): up to 9.65 in (24.5 cm)

Between two sizes, a wide forefoot or a high instep? Take the larger one, and plan for the size that fits your toes on day one. A ballet flat has no strap and no laces, so the length and the width do all the holding.

US 5 and under, or US 8.5 and up? None of our sizes will fit you well, and we would rather say so now.

The lengths come from the factory size chart and can vary a little from pair to pair. The size printed inside is the EU size.
30 days to change your mind

You have 30 days from delivery to change your mind. Send them back unworn, with their tags and packaging, and choose an exchange for another size or color, or store credit for the full amount you paid. Store credit never expires.

Email us first and we reply within one business day. Return shipping is on you.

Anything that arrives damaged, defective or not what you ordered is on us: we replace it or refund you in full, and we won’t ask you to ship it back.

In stock, your order leaves within 1 to 2 business days. On pre-order, it leaves on the ship date shown above the button and in your confirmation email.

Delivery: 8 to 12 business days to your door after it leaves our warehouse.

Your tracking number arrives within 48 hours and starts moving once your parcel leaves our warehouse. No fees are ever collected on delivery.

Man-made materials, smooth to the touch. Not leather.

Toe cap

Matte black on Beige & Black and Ivory & Black. A black fabric with a fine sparkle on Silver & Black. Metallic gold on Black & Gold. Glossy black on All Black.

Sole

Thin and flat, made of rubber, with a low heel.

Care

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and let the pair air dry, away from a heater. A dark toe doesn’t stop scuffs: it just shows them less than a light one.

Stairs, curbs, the gas pedal: a flat meets them toe first, and on a light flat, that’s where it shows. Here, the toe is its own black cap.

Try them on at home first.

Walk a few steps on a rug or a clean floor, with the tights or socks you’ll really wear. Check the room at the toe and the hold at the heel.

If the size or the color isn’t right, email us. A person answers within one business day, and you choose an exchange or store credit for the full amount. Send them back unworn, in their packaging.

Questions people ask before they buy

What size should I take?

Order your usual US size, using the list under Size & fit: a US 6.5 is an EU 37, a US 7.5 an EU 39. Each size already leaves a little room at the toe. Between two sizes, a wide forefoot or a high instep? Take the larger one. If you’d rather measure, go heel to longest toe and take the size whose length is at least a quarter inch longer than your foot.
Will the toe pinch?

Plan for the size that fits your toes on day one, and don’t count on the toe cap to give much. The round toe leaves more room than a pointed one. With a wide forefoot or a bunion, take the larger of your two sizes.
Will my heel slip out, or rub?

A ballet flat has no strap, so it holds by its length and width. Too long, and the heel lifts when you walk; too short, and the back presses on your heel. If either happens on the first steps at home, exchange them for the next size within 30 days of delivery, unworn and in their packaging.
Is there arch support? Are they padded?

No arch support is built in, and we’d rather say it now. It’s a true ballet flat: a thin, flat rubber sole close to the ground and a low heel. If you need support for long days on your feet, these aren’t the pair.
Is it leather?

No. The upper and the lining are man-made materials, smooth to the touch, and the sole is rubber.
Does the black toe really hide scuffs?

It hides them better than a light toe does: a mark on black barely shows, the same mark on beige does. It doesn’t stop scuffs. Wipe the toe with a soft, damp cloth when it needs it.
Which color should I pick?

Beige & Black is the one to start with: the beige reads with neutrals, the black toe with your black. Ivory & Black is the brightest contrast and shows dust first. Silver & Black is for evenings and December. Black & Gold is a black flat with a gold toe. All Black has a glossy toe on a smooth black body.
Can I wear them in the rain?

On a wet sidewalk, yes, then wipe them dry when you get home. They’re made for city days, not for puddles, snow or slush.
Buying them as a gift?
