Questions people ask before they buy
What size should I take?
Order by your usual US shoe size, using the list under Size & fit. Each size covers a short range and is matched to the longest foot it fits, with no extra length, because the toe and the back are open. Wide feet or thick socks: the next size up. Any other doubt: the smaller one.
Will the bands stretch, or the knot come undone?
There are no loose ends to tie or retie: the two bands meet in the knot. Fabric bands do give a little as you wear them, and we’d rather say it now. That’s why, when in doubt, we tell you to take the smaller size. Anything that arrives damaged or defective is on us.
Will they slip off my feet?
On an open slide, that mostly happens when the pair is too long, which is why each size is matched to the length of your foot. The two bands cross over the widest part of your foot. The back is open, so take stairs slowly, like in any slide. If your foot slides forward, exchange them for the size below within 30 days of delivery.
What’s the sole like?
Off-white and flexible, with a wave pattern underneath: it folds in half in your hand. It’s a flat slide, with no arch support and no thick foam, and we’d rather say it now. It isn’t made to grip wet tile or polished stairs: take those slowly.
Which color should I pick?
Blush is a pale, cool powder pink, not peach. Cream is a soft oatmeal cream, not bright white, and it shows dust first. Black is black, with a soft sheen on the ribs. Blue Gray is a soft slate gray with a blue cast. Mocha is a soft gray brown, like coffee with milk. The cord always matches, and all five have an off-white sole.
Can I wear an open slide in winter?
Yes, with socks: that’s how we wear them, in a heated house, with a white ruffle sock or a thicker one. If your toes are the part of you that gets cold, The New York Teddy Slipper closes over them.
Which one is which?
The Paris Slipper is a closed faux fur Mary Jane with a strap and a small button. The New York Slipper is curly faux fur with two straps and an open toe. The New York Teddy Slipper closes over your toes in curls. The Courchevel Slide wraps a platform in faux fur. The Paris Knot Slide is the corduroy one: two bands meeting in a knot, open at the toe and the back.
Is it a good gift?
The knot comes already tied, and her usual US shoe size is enough: each size covers a short range. If the size isn’t right, it can be exchanged within 30 days of delivery. Blush and Cream are the softest colors; Mocha and Black show the least dust.
When will my pair arrive?
Delivery takes 8 to 12 business days to your door after your pair leaves our warehouse. If your pair is on pre-order, the ship date is shown above the button and in your confirmation email. Your tracking number arrives by email within 48 hours.
Can I return or exchange them?
Yes, within 30 days of delivery, unworn and in their packaging: an exchange for another size or color, or store credit for the full amount. Return shipping is on you. Anything that arrives damaged or defective is on us, and we won’t ask you to send it back.
